INKLESS STRETCH MARK REVISION(ISR)

WHAT IS ISR?

A method of treating stretch mark scars with a configuration of needles in a machine and a vitamin serum prior to, or perhaps instead of, camouflage tattooing.

The vitamin serum is absorbed by the skin after needling with a rotary tattoo machine. Combined with needling, the serum uses the bodies natural healing response to make stretch marks less noticeable. Skin needling is a cosmetic procedure utilized broadly within the beauty and dermatological industry which consists of repeatedly puncturing the skin within a treatment area with sterile needles. The process is applied to abnormalities of the skin including scars and other irregularities. The needle creates deliberate injury in order to y'trigger natural healing responses within the subject skin. Once triggered, the natural healing processes often reduce the appearance of skin abnormalities. While these may be effective at stimulating the bodies ability to produce collagen, elastin and, for some melanocytes. The degree to which the process will impact the bodies healing will vary between each technique.

WHO CAN HAVE ISR DONE?

All ages, all ethnicities are potential ISR clients. Some Clients that are a Fitzpatrick 4/5/6 require a patch test to determine if excessive melanin response occurs resulting in hyperpigmentation of the treated area meaning the treatment could make the scarring appear darker in colour for a period of time. Those clients typically have a strong response to the treatments and may require fewer sessions.

WHERE CAN ISR BE DONE?

ISR can be done on any stretch mark or scar on the body.

WHEN CAN ISR BE DONE?

Anytime after a stretch mark or scar has healed and is not red, pink or purple indicating it is still healing. Once formed, stretch marks often take a year to heal, unless there is still weight gain happening.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Providing the client doesn’t gain weight or lose a significant amount of weight and remains in good/similar health as when being treated, the benefits of treatment can last for many years.

MEDICATIONS:
No ibuprofen or any other blood-thinning drugs two days prior to treatment and one day after. No Accutane for six months prior to treatment.

WHO IS NOT A CANDIDATE?
Pregnant or nursing women, chronic skin conditions, infections or skin cancer in the area being treated. Those prone to keloid scars. Or recently on Accutane.

HOW IS ISR DIFFERENT FROM MICRONEEDLING?
People use the term Microneedling to include many things…I consider microned to be a technique using a smaller needle, like a derma roller. It is intended to cause damage to the skin which triggers your body‘s natural healing response as a way to revise areas of concern. ISR on the other hand, uses a larger needle and includes a special healing serum after needling.

DOES ISR WORK ON ALL SKIN TONES?WHAT ABOUT TANNED CLIENTS?
Yes, this procedure will work for all skin tones with certain precautions recommended for high Fitzpatrick scale clients. If your client is 10 and it is no problem as you are not colour matching!

ISR AFTERCARE:
